WELLINGTON, this "day. ,% . being interrogated to-day as to whether any information had been received by the Defence Department of offers by; the : Imperial Government of positions for officers of New Zealand Staff Corps who may be dismissed as the result of the suspension of compulsory military v training. Defence headquarters made the following announcement: "The Colonial Office° and War Omce have very generously offered to absorb some of the officers of the Permanent Forces of New Zealand, who may be surplus to requirements " ■
No details are yet vailable as to actual stations, ratas of pay or numbers of appointments available.
The "Evening Post" says it is reported that there are no lack of offers to accept appointments abroad.
