LONDON, August 25,
A message from Lima, Peru, states that Senor Augusto Leguia, who has ruled Peru under a virtual dictatorship for eleven years, has resigned and fled towards Panama aboard a cruiser.
A military insurrection started a week ago in Southern Peru and spread like ■wildfire under the leadership or Colonel Sanchez Gerro. There has been no fighting at Lima, but four citizens were killed.
