PULVERISED COAL.
ECONOMY IN USE BY SHIPS.

SYDNEY, this day.
Br burning pulverised coal it is claimed that a_ saving of £20 is daily effected in the running costs of the new German freighter Stassfurt of the Hamburg-Am erika Line, which has reached Sydney on her maiden voyage.
Her sister ship, the Bitterfield, is burning ordinary coal and carries ten more firemen and consumes more fuel. In the future the Stassfurt will use Australian coal for her return journeys.
Ife is understood that the Manly ferries will also instal plants and use pulverised «oal.
