J.H. JEFFERD'S TEAM.

CYLINDER NEARLY READY.

STAR STRANGER GALLOPED.

Star Stranger, ridden by H. Gray, and Cylinder, ridden- by a light boy, were galloped six furlongs during an interval between the programme at tho hunt meeting af Hastings on Saturday. Star Stranger was allowed a break on his companion, but Cylinder was soon with him, and they finished up together, with the three-year-old doing it well. The last five furlongs and a half were run in 1.9, which was one second faster than the Maiden Race was run.

Cylinder looks exceptionally well, and with a race at Marton he should be about at Ms best for tho Wanganui Guineas. Star Stranger looked rather big, but did well to finish up with his younger rival, and he too will be seen out at Wanganui.
