AFTERNOON TEA.

A verv enjoyable and informal tea was given by Sirs. E. H. B. Milsom in the lounge of the Lyceum Club yesterday afternoon, in honour of Lady Sidey, who has been paying a brief visit to Auckland before leaving with her husband, Sir Thomas Sidey, for England. Bowls of spiking flowers and tall stands containing shaded, foliage made the lounge look most attractive. Mrs. Milsom wore a frock of rose-beige georgette, with wide-brimmed hat to tone. Lady Sidey was in a maroon ensemble,. with mole fur trimming and a velour hat in same tone. Among those present were: — Lady Stringer, who wore a frock of dark red, with coatee, and red hat to match; Lady Mitchelson, black ensemble, furs and black hat: Lady Herdman, black suit, with wide-brimmed black hat; Mrs. Coleman, navy blue crepe fleuri, with navy blue hat; "Miss Mowbray; black georgette, with furs, and' black hat trimmed with ospreys; Mrs. F. Fitchett, silver grey frock, with grey felt hat, relieved -with mauve; Mrs. Roy Wilson, navy blue embroidered frock, with furs and navy blue hat; Mrs. S. A. Stride, nut brown ensemble, with fnr trimming, and hat in shades of brown; Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane, beige suit, with hat to tone; Mrs. H. E. Vaile, black tailored suit, with black hat; Mrs. Alan Brown, black suit, with black felt hat; Mrs. J. Stanton, black georgette and black hat; Mrs. E. B. Gunson, fur wrap over frock of patterned georgette, and green felt hat; Mrs. John Alexander, ring velvet, with floral design, black fur coat and wide-brimmed black hat; Mrs. Willis, patterned frock, with hat to tone; Mrs. C. E. Maguire, silver grey ensemble, with grey hat to match.
