FANCY DRESS DANCE.
T3ie annual children's fancy dress [dance la connection with the Takapuna Boating- Club, took place in the clubhouse at Bayswater, on Saturday evening'. Mr. L. S. Davis was the organiser, assisted by ilr. Claude Brmsden and the committees. This is a special entertainment for the children of the district, who are always sure of a real good time at this yearly function. Dancing, games, a grand march, also a fairy tale, read by Mr. L. S. Davie, and illustrated by living tableaux, was included in the programme, and a short screen picture was shown. Prizes were given for the most comical costume, the prettiest, the cheapest, the best poster and the prettiest pair. Miss Mueller and Miss Forrest were the judges, giving prizes to Ailsa Mackay, early Victorian lady; Bov Brinsden, as a king of the Cannibal Islands; Jim Lidgard, as Sylvia Starch; C'olin Wolf gram, as Gaston the Chef: Hector McLeod, as a Highlander; Doreen Preston-Thomas and Teddy Carr, as snow babies; Kathleen Anderson, as a little old lady; Jack Thompson, Maori chief; Boss Wolfgram, a Hula baby; Cliff e Hoverd, Champion flour; Inez Smith, aee of hearts; Myrtle Smith, folly; Desna Blomfield, as patches. Other individual dresses were worn by Henry Anderson, "What a Corker"; Eunice Patterson, Bed Biding Hood; Geoff Burton, as Bradman; Jack Barton, as Grimmett; Millicent McNeil, a lady; Mona Blampied, Scotch girl; Mary Burton, silver fairy; Betty Preston-Thomas, Hula girl; Billie Thompson, feather duster; Jane Thompson, Circus Sally; Loraine Jefferies, butterfly; Lois Bobinson, "Eat More Fruit"; Leslie Beid, maid-in-waiting; Primrose Maekay, early Victorian; Joan Thomas, trumps; Buth McFadgen, lady-in-waiting; W. Warren, pierrot; JToel McEadgen, lord-in-waiting; Trevor Ekman, Bradman; Bonald Hutchinson, Miss Muffett; W. Inkster, Bed Indian; B. and E.
