MANY AUCKLAND VISITORS'

Captain George Walker, of Auckland and formerly of the X.Z.S.C.,"i s in 2' don on holiday. He sails for home in November.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Harrison, 0 f ti, P Auckland Hydra Pork Packing Company went on the Continent soon after the'' arrival. They aie to tour England and Scotland shortly, and will return home by the States, and spend some ti me there.

Mr. P. P. Motley, the Auckland city valuer and returning officer, arrived in this country via the Continent. He has spent some time oil the south coast, and is now with a, brother at Watford Jf London. ' " '

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Da vies, of Auckland, have arrived in London. They mean to tour in Great Britain and on Continent.

Mr. W. G. Ivalaugher, the New Zealand Rugby player, has been most unfortunate during his time as Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. One injury has followed another, and as he had an operation lately he has been granted an extensionof his time at Balliol for another year in order to allow him to take his final scholarship examinations.

Mr. Joe Brennan, of Dunedin, ttie Nsw Zealand comedian, is in London at present hoping to get a suitable London engagement. He has been fortunate enough to get a big provincial engagement for Christmas, and liopes to play in variety until then.

Mrs. Erdington Goodwin, of Auckland, arrived at the beginning of the month by' the Ruahine, via Panama. She is spending the next month on the Continent, and will visit war graves. lii September she goes to Ireland to visit relations, and means to return on the Orford, by; the Suez route, early in November.

Mrs. L. Courtenay Atwool, of Auckland, is among those who have been fortunate enough to receive invitations fto the Royal garden party next Thursday. After a few weeks in Cornwall she visits relations in the Midlands and Kent, returning to her headquarters at Sevenoaks to prepare for her return to New Zealand by the Corinthic on November 7.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Graven, of Auckland, have just returned from an extensive tour of the Continent, and are now setting out on a motor tour of the British Tsles. At the end of August they leave for America with their car, and intend to motor across the United States.

Mr. M. Cilfedder. of Wellington, judge of the Native land Court of New Zealand, arrived in London last week on a six. months' holiday. The judge, who fat for six years in the Dominion Parliament, came by the Suez route after visiting all the Australian States, and has toured Italy and France. Ho intends to travel through Ens-land. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfrid L. Mills, of Takapuna, are over here on furlough with their two children from the AngloEgyptian Sudan, where they work in ponncction with the Australian and Xew Zealand branch of the Sudan United.' Missions. Mr. and Mrs. Mills have many friends in the Dominion..

Mrs. V. E. Warbriok, of Auckland, came over on a visit to her father, who has been ill, but is now convalescent and able to travel about. They have been to Ireland and Tho lake district and are now in Scotland, after which they will complete their English tour. Later they will go on the Continent and hope to travel tlierc until the end of the year, .when Mrs. Warbrick is hoping to return to New.Zealand accompanicd by her father, who has been in this country for ten years. Miss E. Norrie Wilson, of Mount Men, Auckland, and Miss A. I. Wilson, of Helenoviile. Auckland, came over via, Suez, arriving in June. Since then they have been touring in the south and west of England and are shortly going to Scotland, and later-to Ireland, will also tour extensively on the Continent before returning to New Zealand, which will be towards the end of the year. » * Mr. S.
