BUTTE'S WOES.

CAME ALL TIED TOGETHER.

WASHINGTON, July IS

Butte, an important mining centre, capital of Silverbow county, Montana,, has literally quit as far as business is concerned. Reduced wages and short crews cut down the Montana Copper Mines pay-roll. Tho teamsters went on strike and tho employers promptly dismissed the clerks, who refused to deliver goods to non-union teamsters.

The motor car mechanics walked out in sympathy with the teamsters, iuid non-union help was substituted. Disorders occurred, and the merchants closed their Btoires, announcing that they would refuse to reopen them until assured of protection.
