Puzzled asks how to operate a pocket sextant—l'm afraid that unless you give me more particulars I cannot help you. Please describe the sextant, giving size, etc. as well as a diagram.
tip. It is cut so thin that you see light through it two-thirds of the way to the hub. The cross-section of the propeller should resemble a wing curve. When the propeller is carved, round off the tips. Carve away the back of the propeller 1-lin each side of the centre until the hub is 5-16 in thick at the centre. Sandpaper carefully and balance it on a needle until it stops horizontally. The propeller shaft is made from piano wire and is liri long. Bend a rubber, hook in one end, pass the other end through the centre of the propeller, and bend a tight loop in the wire. Force this loop into the hub of the propeller to keep it in place. Put a washer between the propeller and the bearing (you can get one at the watchmaker's).

To fly the model, pass a rubber band over the fuselage and under the wing to hold the clips in place. Adjust the wing until the model makes ; a smooth glide. The farther back the wing, the steeper the glide, but you want your model to make the shallowest glide without stalling, so adjust the wing accordingly. Fly this model when there is no wind. Give the propeller about 200 or 300 turns, and launch the model gently.
