COMPROMISE EFFECTED.
BRITISH COAL BILL.

After some discussion the House of Lords .yesterday afternoon agreed to the slight alteration which the House of Commons had made in its amendment to tho~Coal Mines Bill. 'The compromise thus effected between the two Houses in regard to a spread-over of hours will now be incorporated in th<* measure.
