BRITISH MONEY IN CANADA.
A .return recently issued shows that United States money is being poured into Canada on an ihcreasing. scale. Of the aggregate capital investment from outside sources at the beginning of last year the American pro-portion was $3,470,087,000, an increase of $166,000,000, while the British share at $2,197,682,000 showed a decline of $17,000,000. Perhaps. (remarks the "Times") the decrease in the amount of British investment is not surprising in view of the state of affaire at Home, but it k sincei'ely to be hoped that it will not continue. A satisfactory feature of the return is the large proportion of money provided by Canadians themselves. It is estimated that'from 55 to 65 per cent of the securities of all enterprises located in Canada are now owned by he Canadians, who, moreover, are also investing to a growing extent in industrial and other ehterprisee of- other countries.'
