PERSONAL.

Messrs. A. Harris and G. C. Manns, M.P.'s, left for Wellington last evening.

Mr. E. -I. Tait, managing director for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., is staying at the Grand Hotel. He will leave shortly for Sydney.

Mr. H. F. Ayson, Resident Commissioner of the Cook Islands, is staying at the Star Hotel.

Mr. A. H. Burns was yesterday admitted bv Mr. Justice Smith as a solicitor of" the Supreme Court on the motion of Mr. Matthews, and Mr. H. C. Meikle was this morning admitted as a barrister and solicitor on the motion of Mr. W. D. Anderson.

Mr. W. Wakefield Cox. manager of the South British Insurance Company in Shanghai, arrived by the Niagara from Vancouver yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. D. Jones, M.P., chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, returned from Great Britain and America by the Niagara yesterday. He left for Wellington last evening.

The Rev. L. B. Fletcher, who is to conduct an evangelistic tour of the world, left last evening for Wellington, accompanied by Mrs. Fletcher. They will leave Wellington by the Makura to-day for San Francisco. Mr. C. H. Wyatt and Mrs. M. Gumming have been elected to the new Birkenhead Fire Board as representatives of the insurance companies connected with the district.

Mr. J. R. Fow, Mayor of Hamilton, left for Wellington last evening in connection with the Hamilton i 'nemployment relief proposals. He vM'z accompanied by Mr. R. Worley, the borough engineer.

Mr. L. A. Mander, who is engaged in professional work in the L'niversity of Washington, Seattle, arrived by the Niagara yesterday on a visit to the Dominion. He was formerly director of the Workers' Educational Association in Auckland. Mr. Mander will leave Wellington by the Maunganui on Friday to visit relatives in Adelaide.

Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Power Board, and Messrs. T. Bloodworth and H. T. Goldie, leave for Wellington to-night to attend the Power Board's conference. The secretary of the board, Mr. N. M. Spee:r, left last evening to attend the secretaries' confcrence.
