WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

NOLAN—Mc VEAGH,

At St. Joseph's Church, Te Aroha, the marriage took place of Miss Elsie Mc- • Veagh, of Auckland, to -Mr. Edward , John Nolan, of the Post and Telegraph Department. The Rev. Father Ford officiated. The bride, who was escorted to the altar by Mr. R. C'. Willis, wore ivory, satin beaute, cut in slim flowing lines, empire fashion, with snug fitting pointed bodice, long sleeves and fulllength skirt, with flared godets. Her gossamer veil of embroidered tulle formed a train and was woven with tiny clusters of orange blossom arranged over each ear. A sheaf of snow white flowers .and maidenhair fern was carried. Mrs. F. Warner was matron of honour. Miss Emily Maude no also assisted. Mr. I. Cronin was best man and Mr. F. Montague groomsman. HOFFMAN—SPRATT. The wedding was quietly celebrated recently of Miss Emmie Mary Spratt, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Spratt, of Waihi, to Mr. Carl Melville HoH'man. elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. C. L. Hoffman, of Ranfurly Road, Epsom. The service was held at St. George's Church, Epsom, the Rev. Mr. Litt officiating. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a gown of beige georgette, with wide-brimmed picture hat of pastel pink felt. She carried a sheaf of shaded irises. Miss Leah Buddie was bridesmaid, in a blue tailored costume and hat to tone. A bouquet of pink roses was carried. Mr. Edward Wynyard was best man. Only immediate relatives were present at the tea served at Miss . Aick en head's. Mrs. Hoffman avow a cigar brown suit, with fox furs and hat to tone. Mrs. Spratt was in a biscuit tailored ensemble, felt hat and furs. Both carried autumn shower bouquets.

BOWDLER—NEW. Tlie marriage of Miss Isobel Olive New, second daughter to Mr. and Mrs. W. New, of Auckland, to Mr. Clement Raymond Bowdler, of Auckland, was solemnised at St. Matthew's Church 011 Tuesday. Canon C. 11. Grant Cowen ofliciated. Tlie bride wore an ivory satin beaute frock, the skirt cut on uneven lines, and touching the ground at the back. The embroidered tulle veil, which formed a train, was draped over the head, and held with ear clusters of orange blossom. . She carried a white and pink shower bouquet. The bridesmaid, Miss Myrtle Xew, bride's sister, wore a moonlight blue souple satin, with longer side panels. A blue felt hat and shower bouquet of pink and blue flowers completed the ensemble. Mr. Robert Knutzen was the best man. The bride's mother wore a navy blue wool crepe de chine, blue hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother was in cloud grey frock and grey hat. BOLTON—McQTJARRXE. St. John's Presbyterian Church, Papatcetoe, was the scene of a wedding on July !), when Catherine, fourth daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. H. McQuarrie, of Margaret Road, Papatoetoe, was married to Walter Curgeuven, third eon of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bolton, of Mount Eden.j The Rev. T. H. Roseveare performed the ceremony, and Miss B. A. Campbell presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore iv.ory georgette with a deep hem of pointed silver laee. Her tulle veil was worked in silk and was held in place by a silver coronet. She carried a shower bouquet. Miss Marion and Miss Betty McQuarrie were bridesmaids. The first wore an apricot channelise with tulle i hip bow. The second was in veridian cliarmeuse with a similar hip bow. Both wore headdresses to match their frocks, and carried shower bouquet<s. Mr. G. Bolton, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Mr. W. Beagley groomsman. The reception was held at the Renown Hall, Papatoetoe, which was decorated with streamers and balloons to tone with the frocks of the bridesmaids. A wedding bell above the table of the bridal party was surrounded with silver balloons and streamers. The hostess was Mrs. E. Rowe, of Mauku, who wore plum wool crepe de chine with hat to tone. Her posy was of violets and maidenhair fern. Mrs. W. Bolton, mother of the bridegroom, was in navy, crepe de chine and wore a hat to tone.

DALLY—BAYLISS. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew's Church, Turua, Hauraki Plains, recently, when Ida Madge,youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bayliss, of Turua, was married to Vernal John, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Dally, of Matatoki, Thames Valley. The Rev. W. A. Burley, of Thames, performed the ceremony and Miss Dale presided at the organ. The church was prettily decorated by the members of the Bible Class, of which the bride and bridegroom were members. Above the bridal couple was suspended a pretty wedding bell. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in ivory crepe de chine with overdress of ivory silk lace, finished with a small posy o:f orange blossoms at the waistline and falling in a cascade below the hemline. Her veil of embroidered ivory tulle fell in graceful folds to the ankles, being held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower boquet of cream roses, sweet peas, spring flowers and maidenhair fern. Miss Florence Walther, of Palmerston North (cousin of the bride) was bridesmaid. Mr. Clive Dally was best man. A reception was held later at the home of the bride's parents.
