BOYS' BRASS BAND.
BAY OF PLENTY PROPOSAL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, Sunday. With the object of forming a boys' brass band, a public meeting was held in the borough council chambers, when it was announced that there were over 40 boys ready, to join the band. The chairman said £400 would be needed for the purchase of instruments. For raising the money the meeting favoured a queen carnival. Officers were elected as follows: —Chairman, Mr. Carter Bowles; secretary, Mr. H. J. Matthews; treasurer, Mr. T. H. Pearson.
