STOLE WHISKY.
YOUNG MAN FINED.
Pleading guilty to stealing a bottle of whisky valued at 14/6 at Wairoa on February 1, George Harvey Cornish, billiard marker, aged 21, was fined £ 1 or three days' imprisonment, and ordered to make restitution of 7/6, by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning Accused, said Chief Detective Hammond, had been working in a side-show at Wairoa. He and .another person had stolen the whisky. Accused, had been summoned to appear at Wairoa, but had cleared out. Cornish stated that when summoned he was at Rotorna and had no money to go to Wairoa.
