SOLDIER MURDERED.

SHOT IN PALESTINE. A British sergeant of the Palestine police named William Singleton, whose home is in Hillhale Road, Lisburn, Ireland, was murdered when walking with a Jewish girl at the Haifa end of Acre Beach. The police cannot explain the crime, but gather that the murderer followed the couple, calling Singleton a Jew. He was driven off, but returned a quarter of an hour later and shot the sergeant dead. Singleton was formerly in the Irish Constabulary.
