WAIHI COMPANY. LAT.EST RETURNS; (By Telegraph.— Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this -day. The following information has been cabled to London :— For the period ended June 28, comprising 21 crushing days, 17,265 tons of ore was crushed, for a result of 0373 fine ounces of gold and 31,039 fine ounces of silver. This includes 1845 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 1012 ounces of gold and 15,415 ounces of silver, also 05 ounces of gold and 280 ounces of silver from residues from the site of the old Waihi mine. No. 9 level, driving east on Martha lode. The next 34ft assays 21/6 per ton. Quartz is about 4ft wide. No. 10 level, State reef in Grand Junction area, driving east.—The next 24ft assays 45/ per ton at 116 ft. The full width of the reef is 13ft, the average assay value being 49/6 per ton. From the commencement of driving to 48ft east the average assay value is 00/3 per ton for a width or sft. No. 11 level, Empire lode, south section west of Bath crosscut. — The next 24ft of driving is of .little or no value. At 142 ft a crosscut was commenced northwest. The first 27ft is country rock, the next sft is the old drive, the next 12ft is a mixture of quartz and country, ana the next 10ft is quartz with assay value 30/9 per ton. No. 13 level, Martha lode, west of Williams crosscut. At 03ft we have crosscut north 16ft and south 20ft. Work is stopped.

Under date July 4, the secretary of Alexander Mines, Reefton, reports as follows.:-- . The erection of trestles at the upper eno of the incline tram is proceeding. A stari. has been made on bridging the gullies ottej ground tramway. During 24 working tufjjj the battery crushed 330 tons, of which 1« came from the Bull block and IS4 from tne HcVicar block. Amalgamation producea 200oz 16dwts gold, and 168 tons sand treatea by cyanide returned S4oz 2dwts bullion. J-H? value of this return is about £1030.
