REGENERATION IN WAITAKERES.

I have read with interest "Timber's" letter . on the natural regeneration of our forest areas adjacent to Auckland, the Waitakere Banges. As a resident in these parts for some years I , have observed the wonderful regrowth that has ' taken place. Too many fires in the past have caused much wanton destruction, which is a ■ danger never absent during the summer months. With conservation over the whole' area the results in time will be more than justified, apart from the risks now taken, through lack of proper administration and «ur- * veillaiice. " - JfANUKAU.
