GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board was held last evening. Mr. W. E. Martin presided, and Messrs. A. J. Routley, W. F. Rosier, J. Bond, and F. S. Lane were also present. Clayburn Road.—Mr. Dennis, of Clayburn Road, pointed out that as the road was about three feet below the level of the footpath in front of his and other property, it was made difficult for tradesmen delivering sacks of coal, etc. It was resolved that the matter be left to the works committee. Two residents in Clayburn Road are to be instructed to put crossings in to their properties. Footpath.—A letter was received from a resident in Croy.don Road requesting the board to form a footpath in front of his property. The board decided as-the footpath would only serve one or two residents, and that there is already a footpath on the other side of the road, that no action be taken. Eden View Crossing.—The Railway Department wrote regarding the improving of the approaches to the crossing. One member stressed the .dangerous nature of the road at this point,' and it was decided that the works committee go into the matter. Bus Fares.—The Auckland Bus Co. wrote regretting its inability to accede to the request of the board that the fare to Pitt Street be 3d less than that to the city terminus. They agreed to extend the Prospect Road terminus to Campbell Road. Drivers' Licensee.—The Board authorised the traffic inspector, Mr. P. E. Martin, to collect drivers' license fees. Recreation Ground Fees.—A letter was received from the Auckland Football Association re tlie payment of fees for the use of the recreation ground. It was resolved that a charge be made of 6d per player for all visiting teams. ,
