POPPY DAY' APPEAL.

A GENEROUS RESPONSE. OVER £1800 RECEIVED. As a result of tlie annual appeal 011 Poppy Day the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association has received the handsome sum of £1810, and as there are more amounts to come the association should net almost as much as last year's total of £2002. The result speaks a great deal for the devoted band of workers 'who sold poppies in Auckland and the suburbs. Of the money raised 75 per cent •will 1m devoted to the relief of distress among ex-soldiers; 15 per cent will go to the Returned Soldiers' Association and 10 per cent to the Veterans' Home. ♦
