Silver.—Standard, 20% d (20 11-16 d) per ozjfine, 22% d (22% d). \ LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, January 28. At the wool sales 10,319 bales were offered, of which 6500 bales were New Zealand. Offerings largely consisted of fine to superior scoured Merinos and New Zealand crossbreds, for which there was an- improved Home and Continental demand, with firmer prices. New Zealand greasy crossbreds, Waioma, 13% d.

Wheat for delivery in March is quoted at Chicago at $1.20% per bushel: For May delivery the rate is> for .July $1.26%*, and for September $1.28%.

SYDNEY WOOL SALES.

SYDNEY, January 28,

The Sydney wool sales were 'resumed to-day. There >was good general competition. The market, in sympathy with the recent decline in London and Brisbane, was 10 per cent below the previous Sydney sales,- and in the case of poor, thin, wasty and dusty lots; the. decline was 12% per cent.' Greasy Merino to-day made 25% d. A total of 8510 bales was sold.
