THE SECOND DAY.

Wakari Hurdles.

TO-MORROW'S ACCEPTANCES

SATISFACTORY FIELDS ASSURED

(From Our Special Correspondent.)

DUNEDIN, this day.

The spring meeting of the Duuedin Jockey Club will be concluded at Wingatui to-morrow. The first day's racing provided some exceptionally good sport, and there is a very bright outlook for the -wind-up, when the local Saturday crowd will bo on Hand to swell the attendance.

Antrim Boy is an Improving horse who looks the best of these who raced on the first day. There are three fresh horses in the. field, and one of them, Rangatahi, a stable mate of Carinthia, will be hard to beat. The ciilei fancies may be

ANTRIM BOY, RANG AT AH I.

Kateoral Handicap.

Glenrowan has been racing very consistently, and as he looks like staying a mile, he should be dangerous. Tembroney ran well on Thursday when second to Dutch Money, while Town Major was close up fourth in the same race, and was finishing on well. Sailing Home'may do well over A the longer journey, but the best backed nviy be

GLENROWAN, TOWN MAJOR.

Shorts Handicap,

This looks a very open race. Royal Saxon must have a great chance on Thursday's form, while among the newcomers Meadow Lark reads well. The three-year-old Night Lad will be an interesting competitor, but he will need to improve a lot on his recent running to have a chance of winning a race. The public may go for

MEADOW LARK, ROYAL SAXON.

Ranfurly Handicap,

Rapier was not started in the sprint event on the first day. He is a good horse who is very well, and a mile should enable him to show something like his real form. Pink Note ran a, good race in the Mosgiel Handicap, and he should be the better for that run. Narrative and Evening are a couple of useful lightweights, but those that may appeal most are RAPIER, PINK NOTE. The Dunedin Guineas. When Dutch Money won tho Maungatua Handicap, seven furlongs, on the first clay she was giving away lumps of weight to several of the horses she meets on very different terms now, and it is hard to give her rivals much chance. Gold Tinge and Aspiring are among those who ran in other events on Thursday. The most sought after may be DUTCH MONEY. Dominion Handicap. There is a fine field of two year-olds in the Dominion Handicap, and they should provide a good contest. Al Jolson was running on at the end of the McLean Stakes, and may go well in his next outing, but much will depend on the hick of the barrier positions. Spoon, Tracsono, and Tea Party were better placed than the other pair on Thursday, and they may all show up again if they are fortunate in the draw. Most money may go on AL JOLSON, SPOON. Telegraph Handicap, Taboo has a big load in the Telegraph Handicap, and it should stop him. Royal Game and Membo do not appeal on their first day's form, but Narrative, Circulation, and Sudden Storm have to be considered. Most of the investments may go on NARRATIVE, SUDDEN STORM. Clarendon Handicap. There arc some speedy hacks in the Clarendon Handicap. Red Boa was unlucky at the start of his race on Thursday, while Inevitable, Straightcourse and Assemble all ran well on the first day. The fancied division may be INEVITABLE, STRAIGHTCOURSE.
