The special Cabinet committee dealing with unemployment has issued instructions that these figures are not to be issued in future.

NORTH AUCKLAND MEN.

WORK FOR TWENTY MORE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Minister of Public Works has obtained a special report unemployment in North Auckland. Since April last year 400 men in North Auckland have been provided with employment on Government relief works and over 250 of these have been placed during the past two months. The employment of an additional 20 men from Whangarei appeared to the Minister to be sufficient for the present and he has authorised ten men being placed at work on ti'c Heads road, and ten on the KiripakaNgunguru road. Forty unemployed miners from Hikurangi are also being placed on the latter work.
