COAL SHIPMENTS.
South Wales Figures Show Big Increase. BRIGHTER OUTLOOK. RUGBY, July 22. In the first six months of this year the coal shipments from South Wales were nearly 10 per cent higher than those of a year ago. The price ot the coal exported was also materially higher than that of a year ago. These were the salient features of the trade, according to official figures reported on the Cardiff Exchange on Saturday. The ports of Newport and Port Talbot shared in the increase. In the period 20,000 more workers were employed.
