A SCRAMBLE IN THE MUD.

On a playing area that was quickly turned into a quagmire, the St. Luke's and Epiphany elevens splashed and slipped about for 70 minutes in an endeavour to play hockey. Scientific methods were out of the picture, and it was just a case of slogging the ball, following up, and beating the goalie to record a win. The activities resulted in St. Luke's having the better of matters and notching four goals, but the tally should have been much larger. Epiphany experienced the chances of netting, but failed to do the right tiling at t"ie critical moments, and so left the field defeated and pointless. There was nothing in the efforts of the individual players of either teams to call for special comment. The game best served to enable St. Luke's to retain championship points.
