PORTER'S "FLU" CURE.

TROUBLE ON RAILWAY PLATFORM. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The excuse that he took whisky to alleviate influenza was offered in the Police Court to-day by William John Hider, aged 59, a red-cap porter, who pleaded guilty to drunkenness and obscene language on the Frankton Junction railway platform last night. The police stated that accused had been on a drinking bout and when told he was not fit to continue his duties he used obscene language in public and abused a constable, who arrested mm. He was fined £3.
