VALUELESS CHEQUES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALME RSTOX X., this day. At the Police Court, John Reginald Ellis (30), painter, pleaded guilty to a series of charges, involving the passim: of valueless cheques, and was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for sentence. On a charge of forgery he was. remanded to Wellington. "Accused also pleaded guilty to stealing a ring and £1. and was sentenced to a months' imprisonment, concurrent with a term he is at present serving.
