MAY A BUSY MONTH. SUBSTANTIAL INCREASES. BOTH EXPORTS AND IMPORTS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, June 13. The Board of Trade returns for May, compared with those for May, 1928, are as follow:—lmports increased £4,061,000, and exports £8,882,000. Re-exports decreased £1,350,000. Principal increases are:—lmports: Meat, £1,262,000; food and drink, non-dutiable, £873,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £734,000; oils and fats, £1,049,000. Exports: Coal, £778,000; iron and steel, £1,083,000; cotton yarns and manufactures, £1,139,000; vehicles, £1,811,000. a Decreases. —Imports: Grain and flour, £530,000;; food and drink, dutiable, £557,000; raw cotton, £1,119,000; raw wool; £667,000; oil and seeds, etc., £644,000.
