BOWLING.
HILLSBORO' CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ilillsboro' Bowling Club was held in the Club's pavilion this week. The retiring president, Mr. W. Wilkinson, thanked nil who hail helped to place the club in the position that it occupied amongst the bowling clubs of Auckland. Especially did he stress the thanks due to the green superintendent, Mr. E. N. Pollard. and the greenkeeper, Mr. C. Escreet. whose care and energy had produced one of the tine-st preens in the Auckland district. lie wished to draw the attention of bowlers to tl\e fact that the Ilillsboro' Club is catering for their entertainment with a fine winter green. Rinks may be engaged and individual bowlers arc always assured of a hearty welcome. A large amount of business was put through, members evincing keen interest in all matters pertaining to the welf.-ire of the club. A feature of the business was the decision of the meeting to reduce the annual subscription from £1 to £3 10/. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. E. A. Pearce ; vice-presidents, Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P., E. V. Pollard ; green superintendent, Mr. E. V. Pollard; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. 11. Stringer ; delegate to centre, Mr. Raymond Sheath; sole selector, Mr. J. Gregory; auditor. Mr. J. N. Sainty; committee, Messrs. J. J. Preston, M. S. Scarborough, W. Sinclair. J. Clarke, T. Monk, J. Williamson, It. Goldsmith.
EPSOM CLUB. The twenty-third annual meeting was held last night, Mr. R. McK.. Morison presiding over a large attendance of members. Before handing over to the incoming president, the chairman congratulated the club on its success in the Easter Fours, and thanked members for their loyal support throughout the year. The following office-bearers were elected : President, Mr. C. .T. Blakey; senior vicepresident, Mr. .T. B. Ramsay ; junior vicepresident. Mr. J. Wylie; secretary, Mr. A. B. Gladding; .treasurer, Mr. E. M. Taylor; green superintendent, Mr. A. G. Clark; match committee. Messrs. E. T. Richmond, 11. B. Jenkin, W. T. Smith (convener) ; reporter, Mr. A. Taylor; delegates to Centre: President (Mr. Blakey), and Messrs. W. T. Smith and T. R. George; coach, Mr. C. Lamb ;• auditor, Mr. A. G. Clark ; general committee, Messrs. Kendall, E. F. Jones, McDougall, Burton, Jenkin, J. Wright; umpires, Messrs. Kendall, Gray and Boyne. The following trophies were presented : Club championship, W. B. Jenkin ; runnerup, W. E. Taylor. Pairs championship, W. Boyne and W. E. Taylor; runner-up. E. T. Richmond and A. T. Kendall. Handicap singles, T. R. George; runner-up, A. B. Gladding. Junior singles. E. M. Taylor; runner-up, H. Montgomery. First year champion, E. M. Taylor. Percentage fours, W. Beckman, Gladding, Braithwaite, E. F. Jones.. The meeting unanimously carried a resolution in favour of the daylight saving being continued next summer.
