FIRES.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A fire at noon to-day destroyed a house owned by Mrs. T. Marvin. Owin<* to the absence of water the brigade was powerless. A small chest of drawers was the only article saved. The house was unoccupied. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. A garage and two service cars owned by the J.E.R. Motor Service, were destroyed by fire early this morning.
