MINING NEWS.
WAIHI CRUSHING RETURNS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAII-11, Thursday. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Goldmining Company:— For the period ended June 1, comprising 22 crushing days, IG-712 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 5823 fine ounces of gold and 39,233 line ounces of silver. This is inclusive of 578 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 293 ounces of gold and 3728 ounces of silver. No. 9 Level.—North Leader: Driving east the next 14ft is of little value. The width of quartz is about 2ft. No. 10 Level.—Dominion Lode: Driving west the next ] 7ft is in ore of good quality. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Occidental Una United.—Sloping the No. 2 reef north and south is still progressing favourably. The reef is still averaging about sft in width at each end, and is looking well, with colours of gold still showing. In about a week's time we will be trying the liangingwall reef, which we found lately. All the quartz is being saved for crushlng, which will be resumed about the end of the week.
