Arrangements for the winter show and carnival to be held on the four days from ( the l.">th to ISth May are being pushed forward by the various committees. Considerable interest will no doubt be taken in the "king carnival."' which is to be held, and for which the candidate)) so far nominated are; Farmers. Mr. F. \V. Kean : business men. Mr. S. G. Willcock: sports. Mr W Turner. Membership of the Tauranga Golf Club increased last year by 20. and as a further accession is looked for this season, the club hire decided to extend the course from 9 to 12 holes and also erect a clubhouse. To finance these improvements members are being invited to take up debentures, while the Racecourse Domain Board is also being asked to assist with improvements. Several new green have been made, besides new work done to old'-r ones, and for the opening at Easter members will, from indications, find conditions much improve^.
