WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

STEWART—HORTON.

A picturesque wedding was celebrated at St. Mary'* Cathedral last evening, when Esther Alice Dorothy, eldest daughter of Dr. and Mre. W. H. Horton, of Symonds Street, was married to lan Bannantyne, eldest eon of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stewart, of Remuera. Canon Per-civ-al Jamas officiated, and Mr. Edgar Randall was <the organist. The dainty bride, who was given away by her father, chose a frock made with a tightfitting bodice of ivory chenille ring velvet, vandyked round the waist, and fastened to a full frothy peacock sk4rt of many yards of silk net, which formed an uneven 'hem. The frock was mounted on flesh pink chiffon and from the shouldenu hung a long train of pale pink tulle, bordered with ruched net. A circular veil of embroidered tulle was swathed over the head and held in place by a wreath of orange blossom, twined round the back «£. the head, and with dusters at ea<i ear. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, lilies, and tuber roeee. Following her came two little page boys, Pete and Pat Samuel, who carried the train. They wore pale blue satin trousers and cream shirts, with frilled cuffs and collars. Miss Kitty Horton was chief bridesmaid, in a praline pink embossed ring velvet with a tight-fitting bodice. The silk (tulle skirt had many frills and formed an uneven 'hemline. On one side there was a beautiful trail of roses in velvet. The matron of honour, Mrs. Harold Knight, wore an Irie mauve georgette, appliqued with large chenille pansies. The frock wee tight-fitting, with Grecian draperies falling to the one side, giving an uneven effect, the beautiful medallions of shaded pansiee being carried down one side. Both wore Bandolero hats in tulle and bad flat velvet flowers under the brim and carried shower bouquet* to match their gowns. Mr. Alistair Stewart was best man and Mr. John Torrens groomsman. Mr. Prank Laurie and Mr. N. N. Laurie acted ae ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's residence, "Wandella," Symonds Street. The "house was beautifully decorated with tiger lilies and various shades of asters. The large balcony was a bower of ferns, with hanging baskets of maidenhair. Aα Hawaiian orchestra was in attendance. At the church Mrs. Horton wore a nigger brown georgette, with gold chenille stamped velvet bodice, and hat to tone. To receive the gueets at the house, the hostess wore a black georgette, encrueted with diamante. Mre. Stewart wore a black georgette, encrueted in a pattern of ferns made of crystal and silver beads; Mrs. A. Samuel, lettuce green eouple satin, with hand-painted lace over frock; Mrs. Bartley Baxter, powder blue ffilled. taffeta, and pink roses; Mrs. W. J. A pretty wedding took place on Tuesday, March 5, at the residence of Mr. Hunt, Malfroy Road, Rotorua, when Miss Evelyn Myrtle Bodlie, of Sydney, New South Wales, was married to Mr. Victor L. England, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. England, of Rotorua. The Rev. A. C. Randerson officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Hunt, wore a charming frock of blue georgette, with hat to match. She was attended by Miss Marjorie England, sister of the | bridegroom, as bridesmaid, who wore a dainty frock of saxe blue crepe de chine, with hat to tone. Mrs. England, mother of the bridegroom, wore navy crepe de chine, with hat to match. TURNER—WALDRON. The wedding of Henry Frederick, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Turner, of Tuakau, and Inez Myrta, second daughter of Mrs. Waldron, of Tuakau, was celebrated at the Somerville Memorial Church, Remuera, yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Paterson officiating. The bride was given away by Mr. C. J. Codlin and wore a frock of cream georgette. The skirt was made with two accordian flounces, a large silver rose placed on one side, and a cluster of silver flower* on the left shoulder. She carried a shower bouquet of white lilies, sweet sultan and cactus dahlias. The tulle veil was held in place by a chaplet and ear clusters of orange blossom. The bride'* sister, Miss Anne Waldron, was the bridesmaid and wore a gowfl of sunkist silk crepe de soie. Cream lace was used for the hem and narrow lace panel from the bodice to the end of the skirt. A halo headdress of tLille matched the gown with u sprav of silver leaves, and she carried a mauve bouquet of asters and maidenhair fern. Mr. Sydney Turner, the bridegroom's brother, was the best man. After the ceremony a wedding tea was held at the Jenrith rooms, pink and mauve asters being used for the tables and a white wedding bell hung over the bridal couple.
