MR. WILLIAM STEEN.

A well-known resident of Papakura, Mr. William Steen, died in the Auckland Hospital yesterday, aged 76 years. For some time he worked for the late Major Lusk at Mauku, and later had a farm of his own at Pukekohe West. This he gave up in order to work for the late Mr. James Roulston, storekeeper at Pukekohe. For several years Mr. Steen was a member of the Pukekohe West Road Board. Afterwards he lived at Matamata, and for the last 16 years resided at Drury and Papakura. *He is survived by his wife, three sons, three daughters, 25 grandchildren, and two great-grand-children.
