A USEFUL CALENDAR

Here is a "match scrateher" calendar that will look well hanging upon the wall and it is very simply made.

First get a square of white cardboard, and make a black edge round it with Indian ink. Nov/ beg a small piece of emerv paper from« mother, and cut out the "silhouette of a cat like the one shown in the picture, but slightly larger. Cut out eyes and nose in white paper, and stick them on. Do the white lines with Chinese white. Cotton whiskers might be added too.

For the slot that holds the "tail," cut a long, narrow strip of cardboard. Make two slots through which the ends can be passed, then gum them at the back of the cardboard. A small calendar to stick on beneath can be obtained from any stationer's shop. Then with black lettering, and a black line round the cat, it is ready.
