March 30, April I—Hawera T.C. A. Hendriksen will race the pacer Neeoro at the Manawatu Trottin" Club's meeting. ° ,T. J. Kennerley has decided not to persevere any further with the pacer Logan dOr, and he has returned the horse to his owner. Dilnon has gone into C. S. Donald's stable. Dilnon is a. useful pacer whA was owned and trained by W. Warren. Peter Dan At. in Geo. Robinson's stable, is looking bripht and Well and is getting' through a lot of useful solid work. seems best suited, however, to short journeys. Royal Comrade and Kyana, who raced unsuccessfully at the Ka'ikoura Trotting Club's meeting last Saturday, have gone on to race at the Marlborough Trottin« Club's meeting this week. ° Peter Elect is trotting in improved style in his training work. «T. Meachen has been very patient with th e useful but somewhat erratic trotter, and a win would be well deserved. J. Lorgelly has recently taken over the pacer Ashley Dillon." He is by Harold Dillon from Driftmine and has a good turn of speed, but seems likely to be troublesome at the barrier. The pacer Avonwood has been showing good form in his recent training work. Avonwood is a useful sort, who should win a race if properly placed. He is trained at New Brighton. The Author Dillon pacer Editor, who won two races on the West Coast during the Christmas and New Year racing, is doing good work in his training at New Brighton under J. D. Smith's charge. Peter Daunt put up quite a good effort at the recent Forbury Park meeting. The New Brighton-trained pacer is going on well in his work, and is useful tip to a mile " and a-half in his ■class. H. Frost i? working three young trotters at New Brighton. One is a three - year . old by Guy Parrish from Marie de Oro, who is bj" Co pa de Or.> from Mary Lincoln. Th» others are by First Fashion and The Triumph. The Harold Dillon pacer, Avonwood, continues to please onlookers by the manner in which he is doing his work at New Brighton. He bears a welltrained appearance and should race well in forthcoming events. The trotter Wild Hebe has been responsible for some useful performances this season. He is a good stayer, and J. Lorgellv deserves a lot of credit for the manher in which he has turned out the Wildwood Jun. gelding for his races. D. Robertsov; has the trotter Accumulator is good form at present. Unfortunately, the trotter will not always do his best with the colours up. He is frequently troublesome at the barrier, *nd he seems to leave his gait for no reason. Becky Mine is furnishing into a goodTooking mare, and she should develop into a useful two-miler next season. She is a particularly smart beginner from the barrier, which is a very valuable asset, and she has put up some useful performances this season. Repute has not made as much improvement as was expected of her from her early showing. For some time the trotter would not go steady in her races, but she is improving in this respect. Her dam, Renown, did not always show her best form with the colours up.

H. Frost has just taken in hand a two-year-old filly by Drusus from Doraldina, the dam of the brilliant Daphne de Oro. The young pacer has only been in work a very short time, but she has already created a very favourable impression. She is somewhat on the small side, but her breeder, Mr. J. Westerman, states that she is growing fast. The Kaikoura Trotting Club's meeting, held on Saturday, proved to he one of the best ever held on the South Bay racecourse, and the presence of a number of Christchurch horses added interest to the fixture. The majority of the races, however, were annexed by horses trained in Kaikoura or the surrounding districts, and in each case the victory was a popular one. E Redmond, at one time well known as a hurdle and cross-country horseman, won the two opening events at Kaikoura on Saturday on Country Life and Peter McMillan, the first a pacer and the latter a trotter, n°w close on good solid ptodde of applause when returning to the bird eage. the favourite Luath was fitting out a great finish with King . the Progressive Trot at Gore on J hurs day (says Sir Modred") those aware o ths facts were very interested to see if -ftet. >%n »f IZ hi.
