HIDES AND SKINS.
PRICES AT WELLINGTON. The fortnightly sole of hides, skins and tallow was held yesterday. Following is the range of prices:— Dry Sheepskins.—Good competition at full late rates. Halfbred, 143 id to 15d; fvne crossbred, 12% d to 14% d; medium crossbred, to 14d: coarse crossbred, ll%d to 12% d; half wools, 9d to 12% d; quarter wools, 9d to Y2%d: pelts, 8d to 12d. Salted Skins.—On a par with values current at auction sale here a fortnight ago. Pelts, 4/ to 4/8; quarter wools, 4/1 to 6/8; half wools, 5/7 to 7/1; three-quarter wools, full wools, extra large, none offering; lambs, 2/1 to 6/4. Hides.—As compared with prices current at last auction cow were *id to %d higher; and ox kip and yearling on a par. Calf was unchanged. Ox: 331b to 441b, 7'/8d to 7%d; 451b to 521b, B%d to fid; 531b to 591b. 8d to 9%d; 601b to 691b, B%d to lOd; 701b and over, 10% d. Cow: 331b to 391b, to 794 d; 401b to 481b, 6?4d to 7%d; 491b and over, 7%d to 7%d. Kip: 251b to 321b, 5d to 9bid; kip, 171b to 241b, 8 7 /sd to 9%d. Yearling: 111b to 161b, 9%d to 10% d. Calf: 91b to 101b, 7Vid to 9d; 61b to 81b, 9d to 14%; lib to slb, lid to W/id. Tallow.—Full, late rates. 111 casks, 31/ to 32/; in tins, etc., 10/ to 26/6.
