HIPPODROME THEATRE. This is "West-em Week,"' at the Hippodrome Theatre, where two b:g attractions are being screened. Ihe main feature is "Beyond the Sierras, - ' with Tim McCoy in the saddle. McCoy is at his best in this picture, representing a dashing cavalier of eariy California. Lovers o: romantic thrills should not fail to sec this photoplay, tor tae first time in his career McCoy assumes a thrilling mystery role, and the fever of those da)s of go.d becomes infectious. In the flowing robes and gay mask of a Spanish cavaiier, McCoy makes a striking figure, and he emphasises his ability to re-create tne coiourful figures of pioneer days with aosorbmg realism. Never has his talent f>een more admirably demonstrated. Sylvia Beecher, as leading lady, provides new interest for the cast, and her talent and beauty register instantaneously with all classes. The second feature is a laugh-a-nr.nute comedy, with Marie Prevost and Harrison Ford in the main roies. "The Girl in the Pullman" is a very amusing story. Laughs, chuckles, grins, smiles, thrills —these arc the main ingredients. The story deals with the adventures of a divorced couple alter the former husband has become engaged to another woman. Most o: the action takes place in a Pullman car when a beautiful divorcee makes up her mind to snatch her former husband from the jaws of a second untried matrimonial adventure. This well-balanced programme is having a popular season. MUNICIPAL BAND. The last two public park pertormauces by the Municipal Band for the present season will be given in Albert Park tonight, at 8 o'clock, and in Point Erin Park to-morrow night. The charming musical programme to be presented will include the overtures. "Light Cavalry" and "Jubilant": selections. "Remin.scencee o: Wales." and "Classica": Boccherini's Minuetto. Dvoraks "Humoteske." Elga: s "Saint D'Armour." Strauss" "The Blue Danube" waltz. Ketelbcy's oriental phanta-y. "In a Chinese Temple Garden."' and the brilliant cornet duet. "Ida and D.>t" (soloists, Messrs. Da-ies and Morgan i. ALLAN WILKIE SEASON. A total of nineteen plays is announced for production at His Majesty's fueairr during the three weeks' Shakespearean season that commences on Saturday nest. March 2. with the ever poptilar "Merr\ Wives of Windsor."' Among the ruinber practically all the old favourites are included. Since his last visit to Auckland. Mr. Wilkie has had new scenery speci.iily designed and painted by a well-known Melbourne artist, and in addition, now includes in his equipment an elaborate lighting set embodying the latest Continental ideas and improvements.
