WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

COUTTS —CLIFFE. The wedding last evening c.f Mi-~ Rhoda. Violet Cliffe. of Auckland, and Mr. Alex Coutt~. elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Courts , , of Kemuera. was celebrated at St. Lukc"< Church.. Reniuera. The Rev. J. A. Thompson officiated. The bride's cousin, Mr. H. Cliffe. save her away, her gown being of primrose uatin, with a deep uneven hem, having a scolloped border of fine gold lace. <;< ilci flowers and orange blossom were embroidered uii the edse of the veil, which was swathed over the head and formed a train. The shower bouquet was of cream roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Nancy Coutt«, wore an apricot chiffon taffeta, with an uneven hem of gold lace and bow at left side. Tulle of the >ame tone was the headdress, and she carried an autumn tinted bouquet. The duties of be*t man were carried out by Mr. Percv C'outts.

GRIMSHAW— THOMSON

The wedding took plare at St. Patrick - * Cathedral at five o'clock yesterday of Miss Agnes Marion Thomson, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Thomson, of C'hc-ter Street. Mount Eden, to Mr. Uoy Lennox Griinshaw, son cf -Mrs. Grim-haw ami the late Mr. Grimshaw. of Auckland. Rev. Buxton officiated. The bride wore, a frock of ivory satin, heavily embroidered in silver with chic crossover bodice. C ream and silver lace made effective trimming on the long skirt, and the beautiful tulle veil was kept in place by elus-ters of orange biossom at the ears. She carried "a bouquet of white flowers and maidenhair fern. The bride's. sNter. were bridesmaids, and wore dainty nocks of tulle with tight fitting satin bodices and billowy skirts with uneven hem. Miss Eileen Thomson vva« in lemon coloured tulle. Miss Margaret Thom-on wore mauve. Miss Lilian Thomson, apricot, and Miss Esma Thomson, sea green tulle. 'Ihey made a very attractive picture as they came down the ai~le in the wake of the bride. Mr. David Shannon was best man, and Messrs. V. Ban-hard. M Thomson and B. Gaines were groom-men! The bride's mother wore black crepe de chine and black hat. and the bride-room's mother was in black georgette and lace and black hat.

WILSON—COLBOURNE. Beryl Mavis, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Colbourne, of Epsom, and Roy Alan, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson, of Grey Lynn, were united in marriage last evening at St. Mary's Cathedral. Parnell, Canon Percival James officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of silver lace with an overdress of ivory crepe de chine. At the waist a wid'e wreath of orange 'blossom was worn. The embroidered tulle veil, which formed the train, was held in place by a halo of plain silk tulle and strands of orange blossom. She carried a white shower bouquet with pink tulle ends. The chief bridesmaid. Miss Florence Preston, wore a powder blue silk crepe de chine, the skirt having numerous flounces of tulle, with small rosebuds strewn over the skirt, and a large bow on the hip. The two younger bridesmaids were Misses Owen Colbourne and Gwen Hosken. Their frocks were made alike in nilk crepe fleuri. the skirts having two tiers of vandycked petals. The former was in tshell pink, the latter in mauve. AH the maids wore headdresses alike in tulle halo effect, with silver leaves, and -mall chiffon flowers. Shower bouquets toned with each frock. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. .Jack Wilson, the groomsman being Mr. Cliff Colbourne. The wedding supper, which was held at the Penrith Rooms, was largely attended. The table* were artistically arranged in mauve and pink asters, with silver bowls o f pink ticrer lilies and a pink wedding bell. The bride's mother wore a navy blue crepe de chine and georgette frock, with hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother was gowned in yieux rose silk marocain. and hat to match.

BOORMAN—BRIGGS. At St. George"- Church. Thames, on Saturday, a pretty wedding took place when Miss Mabel Briggs. eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Briggs, of Richmond Street, Thames, was married to Mr. Alfred Edward Preston Boorman. eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Brownhill Boorman. of Bronte. Sydney. The Rev. N. Robertshawe. vicar of Thames, was the officiating minister. The service was fully choral, the bride being a. member of St. George's Choir, and" her fellow choristers turning out in force to assist at the ceremony-. M.r. Barras Gleeeon

Her hat was of ov-ter grey crinoline -hape. wide brimmed and trimmed with rilibrin ami flowers to tone with her frock. Oyster grey stocking- ami black rhoes completed with pretty effect. She al-o carried a. beautiful linuqm-t. Mi— Kthel Brisks wore powdered blue cre;>e de chine made with full gauged skirt and loose coatee, scolloped at the lower edge, a widebrimmed crinoline hat to tone and a pot-y of flower- in pale -hade-. There were a large number of friends present ill the church to witne-s the ceremony, after which an adjournment was made to the Ma>onic Hall, where Mr. and Mr-. Brigg- and. Mis.
