DROWNED IN DUNEDIN.

HARBOUR BOARD EMPLOYES. PILE-DRIVING ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN this day. During pile-driving operations in the channel near Quarantine Island yesterday afternoon, a dinghy containing three Harbour Board employees, was capsized And one of the occupants, Samuel Jarvis, a married man about 40 years of age, wag drowned. The men were taking an anchor to a deep part of the channel and when it was thrown overboard the anchor fouled a rope in the dinghy and it capsized. Two of the men, John Hine and David Harris, were rescued by Captain Smith, who was near at hand in his launch, but Jarvis was not seen again. Although dragging operations were continued until nightfall no trace was found of the body.
