—• — — BUS OVERTURNS. TWENTY-SIX MAORIS ON" BOARD. DRIVER AND WOMAN HURT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE, this clay. A party of 20 Maoris had a startling experience on Saturday evening as a result of the motor bus in which they wore travelling to Whakarewarewa, Rotorua, capsizing on the main road near the Muketu crossing between Te Puke and Pacngaroa. The driver, Robt. Roberts, and a Maori, Rihi Reihana, were conveyed to the Rotorua Hospital, hut the other members of the party escaped injury. The bus fell over a 10ft embankment and overturned, being badly damaged. It was owned by Mr. A. Williams, of Rotorua. SMALL BOY KILLED. STRUCK BY MOTOR TRUCK. George Sumner, aged two years, whose parents reside in Jellicoe Avenue, Mount Roskill, was struck by a motor truck in Dominion Road on Saturday afternoon and died in hospital shortly afterwards. The boy was playing on a trolley on the roadway. The truck was driven by Mr. Henry Summerville, of Cambrai Avenue, Mount Roskill. PILLION RIDER SERIOUSLY HURT. Mr. Charles F. McDonald (50), a married man living at Te Atatu, received a fracture of the skull when he fell from a motor cycle on which he was pillion riding at Henderson yesterday. He i 3 in the Auckland Hospital and his condition is serious. Mr. McDonald's son was driving the machine, which skidded when he swerved to avoid a motor car. The condition of Miss Maud Rappard (15), of 28, Anzac Street, Takapuna, who was admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday morning with severe head injuries received through her being knocked down by a motor car, is reported to be still serious.
Mr. Leslie Brett, of Ponsonby, was injured when he was struck by a motor car in Great South Road, Otahuhu, about 8 o'clock last evening. Mr. Brett was fixing a bulb in the tail light of his car when the other car, driven by Mr. S. Speed, of Otahuhu, struck him. He was attended by Dr. J. Currie.

PASSENGERS' FORTUNATE ESCAPE.

OPOTIKI, this day.
A Ford car while travelling on the Coast Road to Opotiki on Saturday night skidded in some loose metal and overturned. Mr. Allan, the owner and driver, was thrown out, together with his son, but his wife remained in the vehicle. Although somewhat damaged the car was driven to the town.

&y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) COROMANDEL, this day. Mr. Beatson, jnr., of Port Charles, was thrown from his horse on Saturday and sustained a fractured arm. He was admitted to the Coromandel Hospital.
