Mrs. Porritt, of Cambridge, pave a bridge afternoon for a number of her friends. The drawing room was gay with butter-cup coloured daisies and asparagus fern. Mrs. Porritt was wearing black georgette. The guests were: Mrs. Hart. Mrs. S. Lewis. Mrs. Innes Taylor. Mrs. B. Couper, Miss M. Hart, Brann and Miss R. Calvert.

A delightful farewell garden party was given at the deanery on Friday, by Mrs. <.. R. Barnett, for Mrs. F. G. Harvie, who is shortly leaving Hamilton to reside at Stanley Bay. Mrs. Barnett was wearing a black and white crepe de chine and black lace hat; her sister, Miss Kmpson, floral georgette and beige hat; Mrs. F. G. Harvie, cream lace frock and burnt straw hat. A. dainty tea was served in the garden; the putting competition was won by Mrs Harvie. The guests were: Mesdames C. Kees, K. M. fowie, A. 11. Clark, J. E. Page, G. KentJolmstone, P. E. Stevens, j. H. A most enjoyable coming-of-age dancewas given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Buckland, Somerset Street. Frankton, for their son Jack's birthday. The dining room and ball were used for dancing, and supper was laid on the verandah, which was lighted up with Chinese lanterns. Mrs. Buckland wore a black silk lace frock. Others present were:—Mesdames M. Buckland, J. Cullinane, Sweet, R. Peters, Misses C. Buckland, J. Pearson, M. Zellman, X. Cullinane, P. Davis, M. Barber, M. Anchor, P. Clapham, D. Gould, P. A farewell bridge party was given at the borne of Mrs. K. Rickeit, Te Awamutu, on Thursday for Mrs. G. T. Hall, who is shortly leaving Te Awamutu, for Australia. The rooms were artistically decorated with choice asters and late roses. Mrs. Rickit was wearing a black georgette frock; Mrs. Hall, silver lame. The prize for the highest score was won by Mrs. R. Lord. During supper Mrs. Focke presented the guest of the evening with a gold-mounted fountain pen, from her Te Awamutu friends. Those present were: Mesdames K. Rickit. G. T. Hall, H. Focke, R. Lord, J. McGovern, W. Jeffrey, C. Downes, de Lacy Peake, L. G. Armstrong, C. Dawson, A. Reese, Potts, J. Oliphant, McKenzie, J. Hawkins, Dunne, A. Pollard, Khon, Misses J. Elliott, S. Empson, and H. Focke.

At the Nurses' Home, Hamilton, on Tuesday evening, Miss Keddie gave a farewell bridge party for Mrs. H. X. Eiby and Mrs. H. Douglas. The rooms were decorated with sunflowers and tangerine zinnias. The prize for bridge won by Mrs. 0. M. Monckton. Miss Keddie was wearing a daintv buttercup georgette frock; Mrs. Douglas, black net; Mrs. Eiby, smart black lace frock. Those present were: Mesdames H. Douglas, H. X. Eiby. M. M. Hockin, G. A. Hurdwood, H. T. Gillies, J. Montgomerie, E. J. Mears, T. C. Fraser, a'Auvergne, E. H. O'Meara, and Miss Sandra Chisholm (Timaru).

A "kitchen" evening was given by the Dandy Dozen, on Thursday night in St. Peter's Hall, for Miss D*oris Wheeler, who is shortly to be married. The hall was decorated in the colours of the Dandy Dozen, and a very festive evening was spent. Those present included: Mesdames H. C. Ross, Wheeler, Denz, K. Prime. S. Dabb. Shakeshaft, Misses D.
