GAMES AT THE THAMES.

There -was a large attendance at the Thames greens on Saturday, increased interest being occasioned by the full rink contest between Te Aroha and Thames for the Howden Shield and champion of champions in the South Auckland Centre, and also the pairs competition for the Duncan Fraser gold stars between Paeroa and Thames. In the former match Te Aroha was successful, a result which makes Te Aroha and Waikino equal in the goldfields area. In the pairs match Paeroa -were the winners and Messrs. Holes and Chamberlain returned home with the coveted trophies. Griffin took Delamores place with H. Coriles, Delamore being indisposed. The Thames pair were successful in the two previous challenges from Te Aroha and Waihi. In the weekly contest for the club's memorial badges the holders (Holman, Chilton. Gooder, Smith) easily defeated the challengers (Clark, Murray. McCullougli and Mackay). The following are the scores:—

(From Our Own Correspondent.) KAIKOHE, this day. Hnvinp challenged the Kawakawa I'l'.ib for the right to hold the White Cup. a i Ink comprising McCread.v. Purely. Leigh tad Henderson visited Kawakawa and heat a rink comprising Munro. Morgan, Graham and S. McKenzie, 22—IS. On the home ?reen Messrs. Morrison and Routle.v beat Pausina and Yukich for the possession of the Schueksmith roosters, by 22 —17.

The tournament for the Buxton Shield was held at Kawakawa.. The Kawaktxwa teams were each successful in their respective sections, with three wins each, and in the final the No. 1 team, skipped by S. McKenzie. beat the No. 2 rink skipped by R. Reylands, 17 —16.

TAIHAPE COMPETITIONS.
