TECHNICAL 0.8.'S CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL EVENING MEETING
Track conditions at the Domain last evening, when the Technical Old Boys' Amateur Athletic Club held a most successful meetinjr, favoured fust times, and some excellent running was witnessed. In winning the 220 yards handicap in the splendid time of 21 4-.">.« A. J. Elliott, the Auckland sprint champion, equalled the New Zealand record, but a< the runner had the assistance of a stronjr breeze, and as only one watch was used in timinjr the race, no record can be applied for, T,he one unfortunate incident during ttie evening was a mishap to T. E. Henry, one of Auckland's nominees for the New Zealand championships, who had the misfortune to strain a leg muscle rather badlv. Results: —
100 Yards Handicap.—First heat : V. R. Walker. SJyde, 1 : E. C. Wo., Her. oyds. 2 : A. E. Kerrish. 7yds, :5. Five started. Won nicely by one yard. Time. 10 3-los. Second heat: T. E. Henry. 6yds, 1; O. Morgan. Oyds, 2; A. J. Elliott, scr, 3. Six started. Won by one yard, with two fpot between second and third. Tin»e, 10 1-os.
Final.—O. Morgan, 1; A. J. Elliott. 2; V. R. Walker, ."'.. Henry was quick to begin, and at 60 yards looked a winner, but he broke down badly and stopped. Morgan finished well, beating Elliott by two yards. Walker was 2ft away third. Tiine, 10 l-ss.
220 Yards Handicap.— A. J. Elliott, scr, 1; V. R. Walker. 7yds. 2 ; D. Kerr-Taylor. 14yds, 3. Six started. Walker led at lKllyds, whpre Elliott, after beginning badly, finished strongly to win easily by 3yds. Kerr-Taylor was a similar distance away third. Time, 21 4-os.
SSO Yards Handicap.—H. McNeil], 110 yds. I; R. Wilson, 00yds. 2: J. Criim. 30yds. 3. Ten started. McNeill led throughout and won easily by syds. Crum was 10yds away third. Time, 1.5.
A two-mile cycle handicap under the auspices of Ihe Manukaii Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club resulted as follow: —.1. 11. Wade scr, 1 ; K. Xankivell. .Joyds, 2; S. Bairdl 125 yds. 3. Twelve started. As the field entered the last lap three riders came down, but no one was injured. Wade beat Nanklvell by a length. Time. 4.07.
