The country is stiU of a good firm class for carrying reefs. There have been quartz stringers and nice flint crossing the face every few feet. The drive south on the main Sons of. Freedom reef, from the crosscut and top of the rise, has been driven Bft. a total of 20ft. The reef averaged 4ft wide, but is still very mixed with pug. Work has been stopped in this face for the present, and a start made to drive north on the reef from the crosscut.

Lucky Shot. —The mine manager reports that the contractors have advanced the low level 22ft for the week. The country rock is a good class of aadesite, interspersed by heavily-mineralised veins of a very- favourable description. The No. 1 winze has been sunk 3ft.
