FOR FRENCH NAVY.
NEW FAST CRUISERS.

PARIS, January 21
An official of the Ministry of Marine states that twelve fast scout cruisers of 2000 tons each, with three 5.5 ip guns, are being built for the navy. They have been specially designed for the protec-
tion of France's colonial Empire. No such type of vessel exists in anv | other navy. Each will carry an aeroplane.
