The search was pursued in the Sahara, but eventually the ideal speedway" was discovered at Verauk Pan, 150 miles, northeast of Calvmia and Cape Province ind approximately 400 miles from" Capetown. The stretch offering is 20 miles "kf t. broad, and is easily accessible by rail. It is dead level, and has a Hard surface. J Major Segrave knows of this site, but nevertheless will make his attempt on the record at Dayton Beach, according to his original programme. ° Campbell's. ear is known as Blue Bird,' Major Segrave's is "The Golden Arrow." Major Segrave leaves for America on January 30.'
