ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
PREPARING FOR TAKAPUKA.
Trainers at Ellerslie had the use ol the course proper for galloping purpose! this morning, the trestle being about 2lft out from the rails. The No. 1 grass was also available, but was not in much demand. Course Proper. Parfait Amour, who was first out, ran six furlongs in 1.23 2-5, going comfortably. Salamander was sent over a round completing the journey in 2.13 2-5. Gold Blend and Optimistic joined in over the last five furlongs, which they ran in 1.8, both being in front of Salamander at the finish. Palmares gave Odin a start and beat him over six furlongs in 1.20. Rizarro and Eager Rose ran a mile in 1.46 2-5, the last named finishing slightly ahead. Gold Money strode over five furlongs in 1.9. Kaiwaiuga was going better than War Officer at the end of five furlongs, which took 1.4 4-5. Brampton and Miss Myrtle began in front of the five furlong post and ran their last half-inile in 53 l-ss. Critique went nicely while running five furlongs with Nerval Tea in 1.6. Vallar took 1.4 3-5 to traverse a similar distance. He did his work well. Arclieno, Men Star and Peka'ohi were in that order at the end of a mile in 1.40 1-5. Corinax was not given a severe task, taking 1.26 2-5 to run his last six furlongs. Lido and Sir Mond were on terms at the finish of a five furlong sprint, whicl took 1.5 3-5. The Lover and Hyde Park were com |tanions over one mile and a-quarter covering th e last round in 2.7 2-5. The> were never at top at any part of th< journey, and could have done mucl better. Lady s Boy easily defeated Knich Town in a half-mile sprint, run in 51 l--»s. Lady's Boy is in great fettle a the present time. Zane Grey was in front of Diamon< Queen while running five furlongs in 1.7 Standfast, alone, got to the end of ; six furlong journey in 1.24 3-5. Abbott's Delight ran a mile, with Har bour View to assist him over the laseven furlongs. They were not timed but both horses dirl their work nirelv. Praeter. Gemlight and Lady Suzanm finished as named over a four-furlong sprint, covered in 525, Lady Suzanne taking a second longer. No. i Grass. Good Boy. who looks improved as the result of recent racing, ran five furlongs in 1.5. He was running on at the finish. Gay Cockade got to the end of fix furlongs in l is 1-5. The Tan. .Tollv Money ran four furlongs in 57 4-ss. but was not after time. Thursbv and Zircon completed a round in 1.56 2-5, with little between them at the finish. Spear Dance did strong work, taking 1.25 4-5 to run his last six furlongs. Te Money went seven furlongs, but was not on a time making mission. Jumpers. The Marble Arch—Miss Pauline gelding in P. Con way s stable was given a trial over ,-evcral pony hurdles. Ridden by K. Garrett, lie g ; .ve a bold display for a novicc.
