Mil. BRAKE XOT A CANDIDATE.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. The Mayor of Whangarei, Mr. L. J. Brake, announced at a Borough Council meeting last evening that it was net his intention to seek re-election to the office of Mayor for a further term. He had decided on this mainly for business reasons, but if circumstances remained as they were, and the burgess* approved, he would be pleased to offer his services as a councillor.
