WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

PURCHAS—CAUSER,

A pretty wedding took place on Thursday at the Baptist Church. Xew North Rd., Morningside, when Rev. Laird married Sarah May Causer, of Waipu, to Charles Merle Earl Purchas. of Inglewood, Taranaki. The bride looked charming as she entered the church on the arm of Mr. Taylor, an old friend, and wore a simple frock of white ivory satin daintily trimmed with pieot edging with a scalloped 'hem and a diamante girdle at the waist. It was finished with a trail of orange blossoms from the sjioulder to the waist. A true lovers' knot of orange blossoms finished the skirt. The bride also wore a lovely embroidered veil and a coronet of orange blossom?, and carried a shower bouquet of Avhite carnations, roses and maiden-hair fern, with streamers of ribbons. The bride was attended by Miss Myrtle Taylor, who wore apricot satin, trimmed with pieot edging with tiny frills on the skirt, and a tight-fitting bodice finished with a shoulder flower to match. Her headdress was of silver with silver leaves. She carried a bouquet in colours to match the frock. Miss Violet Taylor wore Turkish blue satin with picot edge frillings on the side of the skirt and a tight-fitting bodice finished at the tshoulder with a silver flower. colours to match. Miss Clarice Wilson wore pink rayon with pln-tiu-ked front, finished on the shoulder with a pink flower to match. Her head-dress was of pink and silver and her bouquet to tone. Miss Magpie Mamlerson wore a frock of blue taffeta with silver and tulle head-dress. Her bouquet matched. Two little flower girls, Dorothy Morton in apricot crepe de chine, silver and tulle head-dress and Ruby Wilson in saxe blue silk and silver, with a tulle head-dress, both carried posies to match their dresses. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Betterton as best man and Mr. Alf Taylor as groomsman. A reception was afterwards held at the home of Mrs. A. E. Taylor, Vincent Road, Mount Albert. The guests, who numbered over 50, -were received by Mrs. Taylor, who wore a frock of royal blue satin marocain, with att-ordu)n-pleated panels, smocked with grey silk and trimmed with grey silk georgette. Mrs. Causer, the bride's mother, wore a pretty silver grey satin with floral georgette. The dining room was decorated in the shape of a jiuge bell, with coloured streamers to match the bridesmaids' frocks. Balloons, pink carnations and asparagus made a pretty setting. A very quiet wedding took place at St. James' Church at half-past ten this morning, when Mis? Ethel Florence Sharp, only daughter of the late Rev. J. Sharp and Mrs. Sharp, of Auckland was married to Mr. J. A. Mclnnes, eldest *on of Mr. and Mrs. D. Melnnes, of Temuka. The Rev. E. R. Harries officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. F. W. Boyes, wore a smart 'ensemble infloral and light navy blue crepe de chine. A fawn hat went with this and she carried a bouquet of pink flowers and maidenhair fern. Miss Ivy Edmunds and Miss Lilian Sharp, niece of the bride were bridesmaids. The former wore salmon pink crepe de chine and lace, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of flowers in pale heliotrope tones. The latter was in a powder blue georgette frilled frock, with powder blue hat, and she carried a bouquet of pastel pink flowers. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Stan Sharp as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion with masses of flowers and pot plants. Mrs Sharp received her guests, wearing a frock of mulberry crepe fleuri, trimmed with oyster tinted lace, and black hat witn floral trimming.
